Sneak Peek Sunday: The Night Before by Wendy Walker #travelingsistersread #BookBloggers @Wendy_Walker @StMartinsPress

We are joining Christina Recipe and a Read with this Sunday Sneak a Peek where we take a look inside a highly anticipated upcoming group read and give a little sneak peek into our thoughts from the first few pages or where we take a look into one of our group discussions.

This week, we are featuring The Night Before by Wendy Walker.  The Traveling Sisters were so thrilled to be given the opportunity to do an early group read for this one.  The group read is underway and some of the Traveling Sisters have finished leaving them cheering after reading this one.

Twelve hours earlier, she was…
Hopeful.
Excited.
Safe.

Now she’s gone.

From Norma’s review

When Brenda and I got the opportunity to do an early group read for Wendy Walker’s new book with our Traveling Sisters we were absolutely thrilled. Wendy Walker has quite a few fans in our Traveling Sisters group including myself.

THE NIGHT BEFORE by WENDY WALKER is an intense, thrilling, suspenseful and compulsive psychological thriller novel that was quite the entertaining and enjoyable read for me. I was actually quite stunned and very impressed in the end with how well a seemingly straightforward story turned into something that was so much more complex and felt nothing but new and original.

WENDY WALKER delivers an intriguing, clever and engaging read here with quite a few surprising twists and turns.  For Norma’s Full Review

A peek into our discussion

I devoured this book.  I love how the author has each chapter title so it is very clear who the chapter is about and when the chapter takes place. Debra

I’m LOVING this book too!!! Such a quick and addictive read! My mind is whirling with all my questions of what is actually going on!  Love that dynamic! I can really feel the tension in this story. This author has such an amazing ability to pull me completely into the story where I am on edge. Lindsay

I’m glued to this and can’t wait to find out what’s going on, but I do find a lot of this to be repetitive Rose

From Diane’s review

The pace is brisk, the story fluid, the characters only developed as much as the reader needs to know to keep them guessing and immersed in the story. For me, it worked.

From Debra’s review

I found the storytelling to be clever, extremely well thought out, and riveting. By the time the book concluded, I had experienced so many feelings – anticipation, dread, anxiety, happiness, hope, shock, surprise and although my theories were wrong, the Author tidied everything up so nicely that I was not only happy I was wrong but was thrilled by it. Nothing really came out of left field, one does not really need to suspend disbelief while reading. What you do need to do is find a comfortable reading spot and dive in!

This was my first book by Walker, but it will not be my last. For Debra’s full review

Highly recommend!

  1. Ooooh, I can’t wait until the library gets this one. They do have a couple of Wendy Walker’s other books available so I’ll check into those while I’m waiting. Great sneak peek!

  2. I had to hold back from reading all of your discussions the past week since I’m dying to read this one so much! I love Wendy Walker! Thank goodness it won’t be but a few more weeks until my reading schedule clears, and I CAN read it, yay!! Great sneak peak! 🙂

      1. She’s such a great author!! It really is hard, lol. I used to read the last bit of the books first when I was younger and had to break myself of the habit, lol. So it’s extra hard not to find out what’s going on! But I was good and the sneak peek was great! 🙂

    1. Hahaha, I sort of did the same thing when I was younger. It was really hard for me not to peek and then I would get so disappointed when I did so I had to really discipline myself so I wouldn’t peek. LOL
Also, if I really was engaged with one perspective over another I would peek as well…..same thing then I’d be disappointed.
